Treatment Approach
I prioritize human connection, and believe that relationship is the number-one building block of any therapeutic alliance. Before any work occurs, I focus on building trust. Family therapy is an essential part of my background, and I incorporate systems work into all of my facilitation.
I utilize holistic healing methods, with the understanding that the most effective way to heal trauma is through the body – ideally in conjunction with the natural world. I show my heart in my work, and often find myself laughing and crying alongside my clients.
While I bring compassion to my clients, I will push you to dig deeper. I draw on the latest neurological research, and use techniques in somatic experiencing, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My ultimate goal is to stimulate awareness and insight in my clients – this will empower you to thrive on your own.
I am trained in post-traumatic growth, polyvagal theory, family systems, and mindfulness-based counseling. Once I find opportunities to connect with clients, the therapy flows from there. I come to therapy with an open mind, seeking to understand rather than judge.
